TAM WILLIAMS

Tam is a London-based performer and director.   Alongside acting work in theatre (RSC/NT/West End/Propeller Theatre (dir Ed Hall);  Film, TV and Radio, Tam has more recently been extending his career as a director, having been inspired in his approach to text and staging by working with Peter Hall, Katie Mitchell, Ed Hall, Rachel Kavanaugh and Paul Miller amongst others.

Tam is a collaborator in the rehearsal room and promotes the ensemble ethic in his acting companies, applying as much imagination, clarity, vim and pace in his productions as possible. . He is particularly interested in developing classic and contemporary texts in innovative, non-theatrical spaces (from car parks to kitchens) and to spaces within theatre buildings or surroundings that are not normally used for performances.

In Spring 2023 Tam directed highly successful productions of Noel Coward’s HAY FEVER and returned in 2024 to direct classic thriller DEATHTRAP in the main theatre at the Mill at Sonning and TWELFTH NIGHT site specific in the bar area - the latter production was then transferred to the QM2 as part of Cunard’s new programme of theatre - to which Tam will return in 2026.
